You guys.  Seriously.  So many feelings right now!  I just found out that my new co-worker is a Whovian!  Let me repeat, WHOVIAN!!

I think I made a great impression on her today (the second day I have known her btw)  Let's recap:

Me:  Okay, headed home for the day.  Do you have any last questions for me.

Her: What do you do with all your spare time?

Me:  I watch alot of British TV.

Her: Do you watch Doctor Who?

Me:   *spit take*

Her:   *stunned silence as she wipes water off her computer monitor*

[General laughing for about 5 minutes from our other co-worker who witnessed my fountain-impression]

Seriously guys, I got so excited to rant about my love of Doctor Who, that I forgot I had water in my mouth.  I couldn't be bothered to swallow first, and then start gushing.  What a nerd. :nerd:

The water spraying incident turned into apologies, then me asking who her favorite Doctor was (Tennant was discussed, and I countered with Eccleston).  She tried to out-Whovian me by saying she has a TARDIS cookie jar.  I said, "I'm working on a TARDIS cosplay."

So, like I said, I think it went well.    I really shouldn't have tried to one-up her.  I just got too excited that I finally found a real-life Whovian (no offense to all of you brilliant people).  I really  hope she doesn't think I'm too weird now...

That wouldn't happen right?  Right?

I'm still alive

2 min read
Hi everyone.  Just wanted to write, and say that I'm still alive.  I know I haven't been on here as much as normal, and I don't know if anyone's missed me or not...but I've missed all of you!

I've just been in such a weird funk lately.  Can't seem to shake myself out of it.  Maybe now that the weather is becoming nicer, I'll be able to feel a bit more cheery.  I just don't really like to talk to anyone when I feel like this, so I hope no one takes it personally!

I've also been spending more and more time on Tumblr.  That's when I do have time.  I'm working about 45 hours a week, and then add commute time on top of that - I have almost zero free time to do anything fun.  :(  Fan fics and sleep is all that I really do.

I did sign up to take a cake decorating class with a friend.  And I finally bought myself a pair of Converse!  Trying them on in the store, I felt like a proper companion!  I'm ready for the Doctor to come and get me now.  I can run anywhere.  :)

Speaking of companions, I would like to know what you all think about the new Doctor Who situation.  We only get six episodes this series, and episode #5 will see the end of the Ponds (with the Weeping Angels somehow involved).  I'm so not ready to lose them!  I actually had to run around the house ranting when I read what Moffat had posted on Twitter.

Is it normal to get this attached to a show?

I don't know - but I don't think I could change it even if it's not!

As I was waiting for my bus tonight a blue Mini-Cooper drove past (which I have been checking out lots more because they are so adorable & British).  And this one had plates that said "TARDIS"!  I actually made this face:

I hope I can find out who that person is.  Maybe I'll stand by the bus stop one night in my Doctor Who cosplay and see if they stop.  lol

I've also been enjoying my Doctor Who Series 1 DVD's!  Best present I ever got myself.  I am watching them one at a time, then following it up with the Doctor Who Confidential episode.  That's how I'd like to go about re-watching all of Series 1 through 6.  (Why did they have to cancel DWC?  :wtf:  Seriously.)

I've also been re-watching Sherlock, and I love it!  I've been toying around with some fan fic ideas for Sherlock and Wholock crossovers.  I also found a great Wholock fan vid if anyone is interested:  www.youtube.com/watch?feature=… fantastic!  (and my standards are pretty high, so check it out!)

Oh, and this GIF kind of made my night:

I love our fandoms!!

Best Woman Ever

Whoa!  Gone for just a couple days and my inbox is flooded with deviations and notes!  I missed you guys too.  :huggle:  I wish I had time to comment on every single beautiful piece of art.

Then, I log onto my Tumblr and I see this:

Isn't Catherine just the most amazing person ever?  I feel like she is talking directly to me.  I am so guilty of burying myself in a hole when I feel depressed.  I need to look at this every day.  If anyone knows the source for these, I'd be interested to find out.  Catherine is fast becoming my role model the more I learn about her.  I have seriously been thinking about building her a fan site.  I think she really deserves one.

I mean she's just so damn flawless!

I caught her first episode as Nelli Bertram on The Office (US) and I loved it!  I'm so glad she getting some recognition over here in the States.  But she has gotten so skinny!  I hope she didn't feel pressured to lose the weight.  I thought she was gorgeous with all her curves.
(Catherine if you're reading this - you're beautiful no matter what!)

I'm sort of proud that my first episode of Doctor Who was "The Runaway Bride".  That means she was my first official companion.  I think it was meant to happen that way!

That's all for now.  I'll be checking in tomorrow when I have more time.  Good night all!  :blowkiss:

I am so happy right now!  I had a nearly perfect day - and I just had to share it with all of you, even though I promised no more blogging for awhile.

The pastry & tea shop was amazing!!  :squee:  It was more a full-blown restaurant than I had anticipated from their website.

My lunch was a steak & mushroom pie with chips!  Delicious!  I will definitely be going there again.

I had this great moment where I was eating my pie & chips, while reading Sherlock adventures on my Kindle, drinking amazing tea, and a Mini-Cooper drove by.  :D
Sidebar: Why is British tea so much better?!  Is it just a quality thing?  I could drink a pot of that stuff every day.

As you can tell, I fell in love with the place.  There was also a little shop attached where you could buy biscuits or tea usually only found in Britain -- so hard not to over spend.  And there was a pub next door, which I'll check out next time.

I also spent several hours with my oldest friends -- books.  I went to a couple different book stores, and I did buy a few Doctor Who items.  The technical manual was published in 1983.  I'm thinking if I hold onto it for awhile, it might even be worth something.  (And now I have my own sonic screwdriver!! :la:)

I also found this dress at a thrift store that I want to alter for a TARDIS cosplay  :hooray:

It looks black because of the lighting in my room - but it is a navy blue (so more of a Classic TARDIS color).  Of course, I will need someone far more clever than myself to help with the actual sewing... but I'm sure it will be fantastic.  I see so much potential in this dress!

I also got a haircut and now I feel all fluffy & pretty!  Now I'm just watching more Sherlock and playing on Tumblr.  Ah - contentment.
